Nick loves to fish and had a blast catching these big cats.

It was really cold January day but she held in there like a true fisher kid. The fish tried to pull it from her her but she was determined that i was not going to take it from her. she pulled in the nice fish with the biggest smile on her face that any kid should do after catching their first big fish. so we had a good day and her mom was really proud of her and she also caught some nice fish that day also. So rule of thumb is that you do not need expensive gear to catch a fish. ( a stick and some line will do).

My name is Tommy Ogle and I'm from Louisville, Kentucky. I caught this fish from a place where I had caught a 5lb 2oz largemouth. On about the tenth time I even wet my bait that day. I pitched my bait in about 2' of water on the outside of a overhanging limb of a tree. I pulled my 7" blue and black plastic worm back in in very muddy water and felt the fish hit it. I reeled down close to the water and since I was bank fishing set the hook with a hard sidewards sweep. I locked into the jaws of a 7lb 12oz largemouth. He put on an unbelivible battle that had my adreniline about to squirt out my ears. I grabbed the line and pulled him about 2 ft to me because I could hardley reel because he was pulling my drag out so much (even though I had it set pretty high). After I landed him I ran to my house across the street and got my mom to drive up to Wal-mart to get some batteries for the camera while I sat in about 2 ft of water to keep him arriated and alive. When she got back we took plenty of pictures and weighed him on a digital scale. Then I continued to arriate him for about 2 hours waiting for my dad to get home. He was very happy that I had caught it and said I should mount it; so very sadly that beautiful fish died and will be hanging on the wall in about a month or two. I look back on it and wish I would have let him go. But even the pond owner persuaded me to mount the fish because it was overpopulated with fish (even though most of them small). But that feeling of that fish being on, and pullen really good is not replaceable and I will remember it for the rest of my life. I oneday hope to be a professional angler on the B.A.S.S. pro tour. And even though I am only 12 years old I think I will catch one bigger. Tommy Ogle

Seth uses a 2/0 hook with a live Bluegill with no weight. The struggle drives bass crazy. He's also landed an 8 1/2 pounder and too many 5 and 6 pounders to mention! He hopes to be a professional bass pro one day.

Species:  Largemouth Bass Weight:  9.5 lb Where:  local pond by Wal-Mart Angler:  Johnny Ryan I caught this 9.5 pounder at a local pond by Wal-Mart.  My name is Johnny Ryan.  I was using an orange Micro King spinnerbait.  With 6 lb. test, it took a lot of line out.  Then as I got it close to the shore I waded out and got it.  My friend, David Petronovich, (below picture) witnessed this catch.

I caught this carp at Lindo Lake in San Diego, CA.  It was sometime in June of 2001.  I was using a breadball from wheat bread. Works best for me.  And 4 lb. test on a little ultra lite rod and reel.  About 15 ft. out from shore there's a big toolie patch.  I casted about 3 ft. away from that.  Just as I had to leave I checked by bait and he was on.  It was the catch of the day because the only other things that were caught was a 1 pound catfish and a bunch of 6 inch carp.  He was 22-inches, about 7 lbs.  (love your website.) Species:  Yellowfin Tuna Weight:  27 lb Where:  Near San Diego, CA Angler:  David Petronovich Date:  August 15 I caught this 27 pound yellowfin tuna on August 15.  I was using a 4 inch anchovy on 20 lb. test line using a spinning reel.  I was 80 miles south of san diego. It was on a charter boat called The Dolphin 2.  I also caught 3 nice sized albacore that day.  On that day 24 anglers caught 69 albacore and 4 yellowfin tuna. 2 of the yellowfin were caught by my dad and I.  That was the first yellowfin i caught and the biggest fish I ever caught.

Richard Black age 11 caught this red on 8lb. test with a hank brown rig.  Took 1.5 hours to pull him in.  His dad told him to go up on the front (dad thought it was a shark) and leave us alone---- what a suprise!!! 42in. and 23.5 lbs wow!!!

Im zach Lambert Im 14 yrs old from Jackson Ohio.  I caught this carp in a little farm pond about 5 miles away from my house. Its not to big but its good for a youngster

new 2lb. line class World Record whitefish!

"This is Zack with his second whitefish.  This one is possibly a world line class record.  It was caught on two pound test line and weighs 7 pounds 5 ounces.  Right now we are getting the necessary information together to submit it to the North American Fishing Hall of Fame.  The fish was caught on Lake Simcoe through the ice." - Ruralbird Update:  Just got confirmation today, Zack's whitefish is indeed a world line class record.  It was allowed in the 2 lb test category thereby beating his old mans previous record.  Thanx and tight lines - Rick Harvey.

Then he asked, "Do you know what I like?  I like sticking my thumb in a bass' mouth and picking him up!"
