Hi Jim
Recently there is hardly any fish, not sure why but
recon all the construction going on at sea may be the
cause, any way here are pictures of A king & a Grouper

King was approx 8kg's & the grouper was exactly 7kg.
Also attached you will find a picture of a dead whale

Weight: 81.1 kg (~179 lb)
Location: NSW, Australia
Date: Februray 3, 2006
Well what can I say. This Black marlin was caught by me ( John Frino )on Friday 3rd of Feb 2006 during my participation in the
Jess Samms Tournament, Ulladulla, N.S.W. AUSTRALIA. We were in 300 fathoms and approx 28 miles off shore. He weighed in at 81.1kg,
& took me 3hours and 40mins of hard work on 15kg line, till Ron Kunha & Shane Duff could finally get a shot with the gaff and
lifted it in the boat where it joined me laying on the deck. I don't know which one of us was in more pain, but I can honestly say it
was one day too remember, & I can't wait to have it on my wall.

Angler: Kirk Lombard
Type: Monkeyfaced prickleback
Weight: 6.1 lbs
Location: California
I caught this California record sized monkeyfaced prickleback on a glob of squid, while poke poling (like Okie noodling but
with a stick and a short length of line tied to a 2/0 octopus hook) under a rock, at low tide, in about four feet of water. It appears
that the current state record for this species is 4.8 pounds, and since this one weighed 6.1 pounds I am having it certified. They are
best eaten grilled or smoked, but make for a great catfish substitute in gumbo!

Angler: Armand P.
Fish: Barracuda
Location: Mamzar beach, UAE
Date: December 17, 2004
Look what I caught today. This is the biggest
baracuda I have caught from shore. The funny thing is
it attacked a smaller baracuda that had swallowed my
baite & it got hooked. For the past 2 years I have
caught barracuda that have been half or 3/4 eaten. I
guess there will be peace in the waters for a while
now.

Species: Sturgeon
Weight: ?
Location: San Francisco Bay
When: March 2003
Angler: Victoria Ramos
Home: San Leandro, CA
I came across your site while surfin for pictures of stripers. I live in San Leandro, California. That is located across the bay from San Francisco. I noticed the Sturgeon pictures were all from freshwater? One day I decided to take my wife salt water fishing. I thought she would get a kick out of catching some small sharks or Bat Rays, while her pole wasn?t in the water for more than 10 minutes when she tied into this guy, after a great fight and a couple of pictures we released her to grow into one of the giants we have around here. I am an avid Bass fisherman and also have a small aluminum I take out to the bay (it takes me about 15 minutes to leave my house, launch the boat and get to my favorite fishing spot). This site is great, I am including it on my favorite list and will be checking it daily. I would be very interested in hearing about the type of fishing you do. I am located in a great spot, 10 minutes from the salt and about an hour from many foothill lakes. Thanks for a GREAT SITE!

Species: Striped Bass
Location: Jersey City (Atlantic Ocean)
Date: October 30, 2002
Weight: 44 lb.
Length: 49.5 inches
Angler: Emilio Ramos, NJ
|
This is my husband's fish this is his write up..
Jersey city is a great place to fish for big stripers during the fall run.
My fish was caught on 10/30/02 around 3:30 pm I used a chunk of bunker and
fought the fish for 25 minutes. After the fish was tired, I had to gaff the
fish all my myself since no one was on the pier at the time. After numerous
times of trying to lift the fish, and the fish falling back down in the
water, I finally gaffed it in the mouth and landed the fish on the deck.. The
striper measured 49.5 inches and weighted in at 44lbs and .34 ounces. I
thought I beat my wife's record from last year but not even close. This
means I just have to fish some more and even harder. Enclosed is the picture
of this beautiful striper that made my heart beat fast and made me pray to
God many times during the gaffing experience. Thanks for everything.

it measured 43" long and the fight went on for about an hour before getting
