more news from the twisted
barnacle Tim:
Jim,
I realized the other day that
its been a while since I last left a message at this wonderful website
of yours. How've you been lad? My recent exploits in the Carribean
have left me quite shaken. Three days treading water in the ocean
would be tough on any man, let alone an old codger like me. Thankfully
that Portugese fishing boat came by and pulled me out of the water.
Have you heard from ol' Pegleg
at all? He doesn't return calls much these days. I believe
he's confined to a wheelchair in front of his favorite 4" b&W portable
tv set. His nurse told me he no longer has the teeth to chew his
beloved peanut M&Ms so he must now take them by way of his ------.
I hope to see Jack sometime soon, God willing.
Anyway, keep up the good work!

info on BONEFISH WILLIE and
Ernest Hemingway?
I was recently in the restaurant
HEMINGWAY'S at Bass Pro in Springfield, MO. There was a boat there
that belonged to BONEFISH WILLIE from the Florida Keys. Is there any information
on his life? I am very interested in his story and his friendship
with Earnest Hemingway. THANK YOU for whatever help you can give
me.

where to bonefish in the
Keys?
Hello,
You will probably think I am
crazy, but here goes. I found your site while looking for information on
bonefishing trips to Florida for my son. He wants to, and we want
to give him, a trip for graduation. Do you know any places we can
contact? As soon as I show him your bonefish shirt, I know he will
want one. Thanks for any help you can give.

info on Ryobi ML07 reel?
We are two girls training of engineers
in Sweden that are heaving a project in school about fishing reel.
Unfortunately its hard to get information about this kind of tool.
So this is our last hope to do our assignment. We would be very happy
if could take you time to help us get some.
The name of our reel is RYOBI
ML07 ball bearing. We know that this i s a very old product but if
you have any information about the tool, or if you have information about
some other reel, would you like to help us and share it with us please.
If you have a cutaway view or anything similar, it would help our project
a lot, because we are most interested in the technological functions.
Thank you so much for your help

Note from Toshiyuki Nishida
fan Howell:
Hi there,
I just found your "Meet Hamachan
of Tsuribaka Nisshi" web page: http://www.carpecarpio.com/hamachanpage.htm
and I read all about your friend who met Toshiyuki Nishida in Ginza in
Tokyo, saw the pics from his "Diary of Crazy Fishing" movies, and the autograph
and caricature!
I've never seen any of these
films, but I'm a big fan of a Japanese TV series called "Monkey" which
Toshiyuki Nishida starred (as Pigsy) in back in 1979. It was dubbed into
English and shown on tv in the UK, Australia and New Zealand in the early
80's. I've even got a web site tribute to "Monkey" here:
http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/8153/
You'll see a tiny photo of him on the main page (2nd from the left) and
if you check out my Monkey Pictures page:
http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/8153/pictures.html
you'll see a bigger photo of him, as Pigsy (2nd from the right).
In 1998, I was really lucky and
met Masaaki Sakai, one of the actors from Monkey, and I got his autograph
and photos with him. My dream is to meet all the actors from "Monkey",
including Toshiyuki Nishida! I'm so jealous of your friend :O)
If you're still in contact with
your friend, I'd love to hear any more info she has about when she met
Toshiyuki Nishida... one thing I'd like to know is - does he speak English?
Regards,
Howell |

carp fisherman in Austria
willing to swap fishing patches:
Dear Fisherfriend!
My name is Rainer Zebedin and
I´m the "boss" from a carp-hunting-group in Austria. Since
1.1.1999 we have an own lake with a nice little house for all our members.
In this house I want to make a "international wall" with textile-badges
(or something else) from fishing-groups from all over the world.
To everybody who send me something I´ll send our club-badge (Carp-Hunters-Villach)
back. If you know some other clubs who have something for us, please
tell them our answer. Thank you for your help and many big fishes
for 1999!

Pegleg news from the delusional
Barnacle Tim:
Jim ol' Mate,
Your fantastic designs and fishing
stories remind of the good ol' days fishing and sailing in the French West
Indies with my old fishing buddy, Jack "pegleg" Deegan. Jack was
a legend in those parts for many a year. And in case you were wondering,
yes, he is the inspiration for the famous Beach Boys tune "Sloop John B."
He is also believed to have co-written several Jimmy Buffet tunes.
Jack picked up the "pegleg" nickname after an unfortunate incident onboard
the famous PT109 where he demonstrated great heroics along with another
famous Jack, which I won't get into at this time. Anyway, thanks
for the great memories. By the way, Pegleg is alive and well, although
his mental facilities have slipped some for obvious reasons and his vision
is failing due to excessive TV viewing, which is his only activity these
days. If you have a chance, look old pegleg up and say hi to him
for me.
Sincerely,
Barnacle Tim |

"cool shirt" - fish fan Paul:
These are the coolest designed fish
t-shirts and hats that I have seen. I wore the original carpe carpio
design shirt on a fishing trip in South Padre Island last year and I had
a few people ask where they could get one. I don't know if they knew
what carp are down there but they sure like the design. Keep the
new designs coming.

bigger shirts - 3X+?
Hi
It's
not often that you can find a place that has the products that you sell.
The one thing that I didn't see were tall and 3x or larger shirts. I'm
6' 5" 255lbs. and finding shirts to fit is tough let alone ones that have
fish on them.
Are you planning on adding larger
sizes?
By the way I found your site through
an ad in In-Fisherman magazine.
Thanks,

note on Nature Printing Society:
GREAT t-shirts!!!! If your
artists are as "hooked" on fish printing as I am, they may be interested
to know that there is an international Nature Printing Society---200 members
strong. We hold an annual workshop, (during which we learn a lot and print
our fingers inky), and publish a book and newsletter. The 1999 workshop
will be in Minnesota.

tips on fish printing?
Hello,
I hope you can help me, we (my
wife and I) are having a birthday party for my 5 year old and my wife wants
to have the children paint fish and put them on a T-shirt for the kids.
The only problem is to get the right paint for this job, she was thinking
oil base so it will not wash out of the T-shirt but it might not stay on
the fish. What is the correct paint and is there anything special
we have to do to
the fish.
Thank you in advanced
